Six in 100 children still die in Sub-Saharan Africa

Data released by the World Bank show that the overall mortality rate of children under the age of five declined globally. However, as of 2023, a considerable percentage of children still die because of various environmental and socioeconomic factors in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Mauritius was the only country in the region to see a significant increase in child mortality rate from 2010 to 2020.
